A major earthquake has rocked Japan’s northern coast, with the country’s meteorological agency recording several tsunami waves and local media reporting injuries. Lava spewed from Hawaii's Kilauea volcano on Saturday, footage from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) captured. The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said sustained lava fountains of approximately 50-100 feet (15-30 meters) in height were erupting from the north vent and that the heights of the lava fountains were rapidly increasing.
