One of the most iconic Australian advertising jingles, the Aeroplane Jelly Song was inducted into the Sounds of Australia Collection in 2008, the collection’s second year. This 1942 advert is one of the first appearances of Bertie, the brand’s famous Aeroplane mascot, who is still featured in packaging today. The commercial’s song was first written back in 1932 and performed using the vocals of three-year-old Jennifer Paykel. The commercial was broadcast live, requiring Jennifer to sing the song
