Many well-known and well loved yoga poses create tremendous strain on the tendons and ligaments due to their forceful nature. As nice as it can feel to just hang out and ‘stretch’ into a lizard lunge, there’s really no muscular engagement going on to support the stretch, which easily leads to joint instability.
