Mar 30, 2021 · The installer, T & P Aero Refinishers in Salinas, offered the best rates and seemed to be the most competent when talking to them on the phone. They suggested going with Great Lakes for the windshield since it typically requires less work than LP Aero to trim to fit, but Great Lakes doesn't yet offer UV protection in clear, so LP Aero it is.

Feb 24, 2005 · Why don't we just analyze the numbers of flights over significant bodies of water such as the great lakes, The Pacific flight to Catalina etc. The must be a way to analyze the NTSBs records for flights over a specific body of water say lake Michigan that have failed due to engine issues and compare them to flights over that given body of water ...

Dec 23, 2024 · Wood lasts so much longer in fresh water. I once located some tree stumps in 40 feet of water that carbon-dated at 7000 years old --lake levels were lower before the glacial dam broke releasing the water that shaped the modern Great Lakes. There are estimated to be at least 6000 wrecks in the Great Lakes. Fun times!

May 21, 2007 · Thanks for the great write-up, Ken. I've flown the Citabria and had fun with it. The instructor was the barking type and after the first lesson, I decided to look for another one. This other instructor has a Pitts. I've never flown Pitts, just heard that the landings are "interesting".

Dec 6, 2012 · Great circle, shortest distance between 2 points on the surface of a sphere. Use any online mission planner, who would think that a direct, shortest distance flight from LAS to AUG, Las Vegas NV to Augusta Maine, would go through the great lakes. More of a factor with distances over 300 miles. Great circle from Seattle to London is over the poles.
