The following are the group designations that AKC breeds have been assigned. There are currently 202 breeds and 9 breeds with 21 varieties. The varieties are by size, color or group.

For Mixed Breed dogs or non-AKC registerable purebreds. For rare breeds that are currently being recorded in our FSS program. For foreign-born dogs that meet AKC eligibility requirements.

Developed in the 1930s, Obedience is one of our oldest sporting events and is open to all breeds. From walking in figure eights to sitting for 1-3 minutes, dogs show off their good behavior.
