Trump heads to Scotland, continues ironing out trade deals after notching six months back in office
President Donald Trump is expected to travel to Scotland in his 27th week back in the Oval Office, as well as continue ironing out trade deals ahead of the Aug 1 deadline.
This calmer weekend of weather comes after Scotland faced a bout of storm and rain warnings last week which followed a searing heatwave earlier in the month. The weekend of July 11 - July 13 saw piping temperatures widely reaching 28C, while many areas broke the 30C threshold.
Many Scots refuse to make peace with President Trump or his golf resorts, even after he deepened his investment in the land where his mother was born.
After withdrawing from the event in 2024, both Scotland and Wales will be represented at next year’s Venice Biennale (9 May-22 November 2026).
