Two NYPD chiefs violated department policy when they made "demeaning" social media posts to attack civil servants and journalists, an independent monitor found.

According to the city's Department of Investigation, a number of postings on X were not only unprofessional in tone but also "encouraged an unproductive public discourse" that violated NYPD policies on acting with courtesy and civility.
