Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado on Monday downplayed fears that President Donald Trump had reached an understanding of coexistence with strongman Nicolás Maduro following a deal reached last week in Caracas in which the socialist regime agreed to receive thousands of her countrymen deported from the United States.

An agreement with the government of Nicolás Maduro will allow the possible deportation of hundreds of thousands back to the authoritarian socialist regime many have fled.

U.S. President Donald Trump's envoy Richard Grenell will meet with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Friday in Venezuela, both countries said, amid a deportation and anti-gang push by the Trump administration that has ruffled feathers around Latin America.
