One of James Gunn's original Guardians of the Galaxy buddies plays the important role of Jor-El, the Man of Steel's father, in Superman.

James Gunn still has some surprises up his sleeve about Superman, and he revealed one recently. While appearing on the YouTube showJake's Takes, Gunn revealed that Jor-El, the father of Superman who was famously played by Marlon Brando in the original Christopher Reeve Superman movies,

“It was just difficult to figure out where I was going to come from with Superman ,” Gunn said speaking to io9 in Los Angeles last week. “And I think that it really started with my dog in a lot of ways. The idea of putting in Krypto, I think, was the fun part for me, because that was something that we hadn’t really seen in a Superman movie.”
