Donald Trump Jr. called on the University of Florida’s board of governors to reject former University of Michigan president Santa Ono as UF’s president following the school’s board of trustees

Trump Jr. joins other prominent Republicans in criticizing Ono, including U.S. Reps. Greg Steube, R-Bradenton, and Byron Donalds, R-Naples.

Santa Ono, the former president of the University of Michigan, was turned down on Tuesday for the top job at the University of Florida.Ono, a highly respected figure in higher education, stepped down from his role at U-M last month after serving the university since 2022.
