Cape Fear Community College’s research vessel Cape Hatteras was used for the trip, as part of the marine technology program.

The effect of the earthquake was felt off Cape Hatteras, on Diamond Shoals, where Lightship 72 was stationed. Capt. Hanson of the light vessel, which came in here for repairs to-day, told the story.
