A mass shooting in downtown Glendale has brought renewed focus to an area that many of the businesses believe has been written off by the city.

Architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro has won the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Biennale for their “Canal Café”, an installation that serves espresso made from the city’s murky canal water.
