Last year's M4 chip debuted in the new iPad Pro in May. A change from previous years when the M1 through M3 processors launched on the MacBook Pro. South Korean media claims that Apple Silicon M5 chips are in mass production, which makes a lot of sense considering that the first devices that will use them are expected ship before the end of 2025.

The M5 chips are expected to bring improvements through advanced 3-nanometer technology, enhancing speed and efficiency. Although Apple is not using TSMC’s latest 2nm process due to cost, the M5 series still promises major advancements over the current M4 chips, thanks to a new 3D stacking design that manages heat better and reduces power loss.
