Kindred in Uptown announced its closure on Christmas Eve, the day after the trailer for the new season of "Kitchen Nightmares" was posted on YouTube.

In addition to the Verdict Lounge, the upcoming season of Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares," starring celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, will be filming at three other New Orleans restaurants.

West Broadway, a gritty street in North Minneapolis, shows promise of becoming a new center of local food culture, thanks to Kindred Kitchen.

Kindred, a modern steakhouse with a farm-to-table menu, is now open in the former Kitchen Six space in Oak Grove.
