The man ran from the scene, crossed Evergreen Avenue and entered the eastbound 210 Freeway, said Monrovia City Manager Dylan Feik. CHP officers said they received a report just before 10 a.m. that someone had been hit by a SUV on the freeway near Myrtle Avenue.
The man was yet to be identified. But advocates were planning a vigil for him at the Home Depot site. DHS officials said they were not targeting the man.
Immigration raids have slowed since a federal judge temporarily barred agents from targeting people solely based on race, language, vocation or location. But some higher-profile sweeps have returned at Home Depot locations,
