Former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) reported to prison Friday afternoon, officially capping off the New York Republican’s dramatic rise-and-fall in politics that saw him ascend as a GOP trailblazer before plunging to disgrace.

Disgraced former Rep. George Santos, a New York Republican, reported to prison to serve his seven-year sentence after his conviction on fraud charges.

The New York Republican pleaded guilty last summer to federal wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges for deceiving donors and stealing people’s identities in order to fund his congressional campaign.
