According to the BYU, Holmoe will be retiring at the end of the 2024-2025 athletic season, after one of the "most successful football seasons" of BYU.

The 20-year athletic director announced Tuesday that he will retire following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

BYU athletics director Tom Holmoe will retire at the end of the Cougars’ 2024-25 athletic season. Holmoe took charge of BYU’s athletics department in 2005. Among the hallmarks of his career, he guided the university’s football program through a decade of independence and eventually into the Big 12 Conference.

Perhaps the hardest job is replacing a legend, and the 20-year career of BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe, who will retire after the 2024-25 athletic season, certainly qualifies.
