Alex Delvecchio, the Detroit Red Wings' No. 3 all-time leading scorer, died Tuesday, July 1, at age 93, the team announced.

Delvecchio, a quiet magician who played in Howe’s shadow but was immensely talented in his own right, died Tuesday at the age of 93.

Even before he retired, Alex Delvecchio started receiving awards. They continued for more than four decades before the Detroit Red Wings great died.
