Taylor Swift has been laying low since the Super Bowl and opted to skip the 2025 Met Gala, and fans will likely know why. Swifties know that the singer’s past attendance at the Met Gala has created plenty of lore and it may be why she hasn’t attended since 2016.

The gala’s co-chairs and committee members are expected to attend. This year, Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo and A$AP Rocky are co-chairing alongside Vogue’s Anna Wintour. LeBron James was named honorary chair, though he said early Monday that he was not attending due to a knee injury.

Unfortunately, Swift didn't attend Met Gala 2025, and neither did her boyfriend Travis Kelce, which would have been his Met Gala debut. According to TMZ, the couple was invited to the event but “could not make it work as a result of their schedules.”
