Cooper DeJean and Josh Sweat also received votes for their role in the Super Bowl blowout. While the MVP has almost become the most valuable quarterback over the years, it was somewhat of a surprise that a defensive player didn't win the award.

Fan voting on NFL.com: 2.5 for Cooper DeJean, 1.0 for Jalen Hurts, 0.5 for Josh Sweat. Of the 20 total votes, Hurts received 12. Sweat got 4.5. DeJean finished with 3.5.

In fan voting on NFL.com for the Super Bowl’s MVP, DeJean was the No. 1 choice, and that was considered in selecting the award winner. The fan voting counted 20 percent toward choosing the Super Bowl MVP. But all of that didn’t go in support of DeJean.
