The clue was hiding in plain sight (even if I missed it), from the transcript of Friday's Mike MacDonald press conference.
Ricky Pearsall Jr. is back in uniform and active for the 49ers’ NFL divisional playoff game today against the Seattle Seahawks. Also active is Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold, who was late getting out for warmups with fellow quarterbacks Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe.
We can now report that Darnold will in fact be ACTIVE for tonight's game between the Seahawks and 49ers. Darnold said he felt his oblique issue wouldn't be enough to keep him from playing, and it appears that is the case.
Darnold, who threw for over 4,000 yards this year and finished the regular season with a 99.1 QB Rating, is listed as questionable for Saturday's game, and said he experienced the discomfort on his left side on a throw during practice. Darnold is a righty.
