NEW YORK (PIX11) – A winter storm battered the tri-state area with snow, freezing rain and cold temperatures. The snow didn’t let up in some parts of the tri-state area until late Monday morning, but the storm had finally moved out of the region by the afternoon.

The largest storm in years​ delivered some serious snow totals in New York City and across the Tri-State Area.

Meteorologist Dominic Ramunni of the National Weather Service said the storm was "on track" with earlier forecasts and could bring 8 to 12 inches to northeast New Jersey, and as much as 12 to 18 inches in the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey.
