The Honolulu Little League team got back on track Sunday morning, downing Illinois in the World Series Elimination bracket.

Honolulu survived and advanced at the Little League World Series on Wednesday, keeping its championship hopes alive with a 9-1 victory over Illinois in an elimination game. The West Regional champions pounded out 15 hits,

HONOLULU (Island News) – Honolulu’s Little League team advanced in the World Series after defeating Illinois 9-1 in an elimination game. According to the team, three pitchers combined efforts to hold Illinois to five hits. Honolulu will face the loser of the South Carolina vs. Nevada game on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Williamsport, Pa.

The Fairfield National Little League team is 2-0 and will face South Dakota Monday night in the Little League World Series.

Honolulu, under the direction of manager Gerald Oda, is making its fourth appearance at the LLWS since 2018 during a dominant stretch.

Eight teams began their quest to win it all in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday in the annual summer tournament.
