The winter storm bringing heavy snow and ice to parts of the Midwest will also bring the threat of severe weather to parts of the South and Southeast on Wednesday.

Wednesday saw strong storms and possible tornadoes in Mississippi and Saturday is expected to bring more of the same.

Strong tornadoes are possible across the South as storms pass through the Gulf Coast region. Some locations could see half a foot of rain, worsening flooding.
