Cage is signing up for more TV after recently joining Amazon's live-action "Spider-Noir" series, his first foray onto the small screen.

Nicolas Cage may star in the fifth season of True Detective, taking the baton from Jodie Foster — season four’s lead. Cage, who recently starred in the dismal Gunslingers, is in talks with HBO to take on the role, says Variety.

Cage is in talks to lead the anthology series’ fifth season, according to media reports. Should Cage’s casting be confirmed, he would star as New York detective Henry Logan, who investigates the mystery at the center of Season 5. HBO declined to comment on this story.
