MONDAY, June 2, 2025 (HealthDay News) — A growing salmonella outbreak tied to cucumbers has made at least 45 people sick across 18 states, U.S. health officials have warned. The cucumbers came from Bedner Growers, a Florida-based company, and were distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales, Associated Press reported.

The outbreak, which was traced to a grower in Florida, has spread to 18 states, according to the C.D.C. Several distributors and stores, including Target, have recalled products containing cucumbers.

Salmonella illnesses linked to cucumbers continue to increase, with additional cases and hospitalizations reported in more states – and another major retailer, Target has issued its own recall.
