Roblox says it's introducing two new age-based accounts and expanding its parental controls, all aimed to limit the types of games and content young children can access and also how they communicate with others in-game.

Roblox is overhauling how younger players use its platform by introducing new age-restricted accounts and giving parents more power to monitor what their kids are doing. Starting in early June, the company will roll out two new account types known as Roblox Kids and Roblox Select.

Roblox will assign the accounts based on age-check technology or on the prompting of verified parents who set up kids’ accounts, and provide age-appropriate experiences for users in specific ranges. Parents will also be able to correct the age of a child if needed.
