Nasdaq Inc. announced on March 7 that it's seeking permission from regulators to expand trading hours on the biggest stock exchange, the Nasdaq Stock Market. The exchange wants to launch 24-hour trading Monday through Friday.

The Nasdaq stock exchange will offer 24-hour trading, Monday through Friday, with the change in trading hours expected to take place in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approval. According to a March 7 statement from Nasdaq president Tal Cohen,

Both Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange are in the process of making round-the-clock trading available five or even seven days a week, mimicking crypto’s trading hours.
