The Bank of Guyana has issued two souvenir coins to mark the 250th anniversary ... commemorative coins have a face value of two thousand dollars and are made of cupro-nickel weighing 28g each.

The Guyanese dollar (GYD) is the official currency of Guyana. Established in the 1800s as legal tender, the dollar is printed and maintained by the Bank of Guyana, the country's central bank.
