Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters” is the platform’s most-watched film ever, and could become the first anime movie to score multiple Oscar nominations.

Red Notice, an action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds released in November 2021, had held the No. 1 all-time spot for movies for more than three years. It drew 230.9 million views (total viewing time divided by run time) over its first 13 weeks.

A limited theatrical release across 1,750 theaters generated an estimated $16-18 million over Saturday and Sunday, giving Netflix its first No. 1 box office finish.
