Shubhanshu Shukla, who became the first Indian astronaut in over four decades to visit the International Space Station (ISS), completed the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean off California’s coast at 3:00 PM IST.

Shukla and his fellow crew members were taken straight away to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. There, he will stay at least 10 days under quarantine.

Shukla’s 20-day mission to the ISS on board SpaceX equipment tagged along a significant ticket price of approximately Rs 550 crores.
