The Safeway strike in Colorado is rolling out in bits and pieces. Workers in Grand Junction joined the picket line on Tuesday, temporarily shutting down the store. A spokesperson for Safeway said the store is expected to reopen by 4 p.m. today, including the pharmacy.

The Safeway/Alberstons workers' strike is quickly gaining momentum, as employees join together to fight against understaffing, insufficient wage increases, and inadequate health benefits.

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 announced Saturday that, unlike the February strike by King Soopers workers, the Safeway/Albertsons walkout will begin on a more limited scale.
