The parade was the spectacle event Trump had long wanted. It also helped sparked the largest mass opposition to him since his inauguration 145 days earlier.
"Being brave for what we hold dear — our freedoms, our democracy, and each other — it's on us, guys," said the actor at a demonstration in New York City on Saturday.
Around 2,000 protests were planned on Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump. Large crowds turned out in cities like Portland, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles – and in smaller communities in traditionally conservative areas.
