LAUSD said a teen with disabilities was wrongly detained by immigration officers near Arleta High School, federal agents said they were after a man with a criminal record.

School officials say that the student, a 15-year-old boy, was detained in an "alleged case of mistaken identity."

"We're doing all we can to guarantee a safe school environment for all," LAUSD Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho said.
