When the 4 Nations Face-Off rosters were announced in early February, a total of four Vancouver Canucks were announced as participants. Now, it’s down to two.

The 4 Nations Face-Off starts Wednesday, February 12, when Canada takes on Sweden. The game will feature two Canucks as Pettersson will take on Tocchet, who is an assistant coach for Team Canada. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 pm PT and can viewed on Sportsnet.

Unfortunately for Pettersson, and the Canucks who have built up a ton of positive momentum, it’ll be quite some time before they play their next NHL game. The league is entering the 4 Nations Face-Off break, and Pettersson will represent Sweden at the event, which will be held in Montreal and Boston. The Canucks’ next game isn’t until February 22.
