Two residents were suspected of contracting ebola after coming in contact with a person had recently travelled to Uganda, where an outbreak has occured.

Now, in an update, the investigation has led to a suspected norovirus infection as “the illness had spread quickly between family members,” sources said to the Post. It has not yet been confirmed that it is the norovirus. The patients had gone into the City MD when the scare sparked their urgent transfer.

Two patients were isolated and transported to a hospital after showing possible signs of Ebola at an urgent care center in New York.

The scare happened around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday at a CityMD on East 125th Street between Lexington Avenue and Third Avenue.

Health officials were alert on Sunday after two individuals were rushed to a hospital due to possible exposure to an infectious disease.
