TORONTO — Watching from the Rogers Centre first-base dugout rail, Aaron Judge and every other Yankees player and coach had a deer in the headlights blank stare while the Blue Jays were finishing them off Thursday night. This was a broom job for the ages … four games, four losses and the Jays passed them for first in the AL East.

It seemed at various points throughout the season that the Yankees would dominate the American League East. But after a 6-14 stretch and a four-game sweep at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays this week, they're now a game back of Toronto in the standings.

The New York Yankees are struggling and, after being swept by the Blue Jays and losing their AL East lead, starting pitcher Clarke Schmidt basically told everyone that Aaron Boone is to blame.
