Quimper is a commune and prefecture of the Finistère department of Brittany in northwestern France. Quimper is the prefecture of the Finistère department. The city of Quimper was built at the confluence of the Steir, Odet and Jet rivers. Routes Nationale 165, D785, D765 and D783 were designed to intersect here, 62 km northwest of Lorient, 181 km west of Rennes, and 486 km west-southwest of Paris.
